Approximately 30 yachts are this year, 2017, participating in the Tioman to Anambas stretch of the Sail Anambas 2017 festival. The festival, which has been running for three years, will this year have as its Anambas dates 6 - 15 June.

The Anambas week of Sail Anambas 2017 include a number of special events, including cultural activities, a Gala Dinner, lots of snorkeling, diving and exploring the countless breathtaking Bounty islands in Anambas.

Sail Anambas 2017 has already been declared a success in part due to immigration procedures for yachties having been simplified drastically in recent years. Whilst the process was rather cumbersome previously, passport and customs procedures have now been cut down to a minimum of formalities in Tarempa, all of them on the island of Siantan.

Apart from being a lot of fun for all participants, Sail Anambas 2017 will undoubtedly spark the interest of the world of exotic island destinations and yachting, given that Anambas has already shown immense potential to become a global epicentre for tourism and leisure travel. It seems just a matter of time.

A number of resorts have already opened in Anambas this year, 2017, and undoubtedly more will follow. In addition, a modern airport has been built on the island of Jemaja, which is a short ferry-ride from Tarempa.

As a matter of fact, Sail Anambas 2017 might well be the spark for the full-throated breakthrough of Anambas, both regionally and internationally.
